Forthcoming Event Friday 1st July 7pm
The name of the winner of the third Osi Rhys Osmond Art Prize will be revealed at a function in the Memorial Hall, Llansteffan during the evening of Friday July 1st . Entry is free and all are welcome to join in the celebrations with live music, to look at the art work of shortlisted entrants and to enjoy a glass of wine and tasty canapés at a very reasonable price.
The raffle will also be drawn. The raffle prize, selected by Patron Dr Chris John, is a unique single copy framed print of a painting by Osi and is on display in Oriel Osi (image and related poem below). Only 200 tickets have been printed for sale at £2.50 each, therefore a very good chance of winning a valuable work of art.
A book launch of Osi’s essays will also take place.
The entries by students of the Carmarthen School of Art will be exhibited in Oriel Osi on The Square, Llansteffan from Saturday July 2nd for the whole of the month.

Correspondence by Osi Rhys Osmond
I cherish those unconsidered moments
When we find ourselves unaware
Between things
Times of completion or of waiting
Rising, dressing, gathering, resting
We pause in disregarded places
Posed in unexpected correspondence
Irregular, tangential
Sitting, lying, walking
Strangely unaligned for customary communicate
Then, unconsciously between each other
But as one
We talk, think, dream and stare
The world seems vacated
There is no beginning and no end
Time has vanished
There is only us
And we, are one.
