PAINTINGS by OSI RHYS OSMOND
CEFFYL HAUL // SUN HORSE by SIÂN LEWIS
on display November-December 2025
‘Ceffyl haul, the sun horse brings a warm glow of light as day flows into night. It emerges illuminated at dusk during the long hours of winter darkness in the astrological phase of Saggitarius, the centaur.
In daylight the horse is elusive or mercurial while the viewer may see themself partially reflected in the mirrored surface, inviting interaction with the artwork.
Horses are threaded through my journey, dreamscape and resonating mythologies. This is something shared with Osi’s work.
Ceffyl haul is also in conversation with Andrew Lacey’s bronze horse sculpture entitled Heddwch // Peace.
It is an honour to show my work amidst Osi’s paintings. ’ Siân Lewis

In Osi’s words…
“The man and horse falling might be based on an early poetic image of a dying warrior, or a modern youth riding a pony on a coal tip, or it could represent the crisis in rural life which poses just as great a threat to a way of life as any great mediaeval battle or the savage destruction of traditional industry” Osi Rhys Osmond
