ORO ART PRIZE 2025

Join us to celebrate this event organised in conjunction with the Carmarthen School of Art to commemorate the life and work of Osi Rhys Osmond, the internationally known artist, author and teacher who lived and worked in Llansteffan until his death in 2015. Osi was an inspirational Head of Foundation at the School of Art and was adored by his students for the enthusiasm he engendered.

On display in the Hall will be printed examples of work by the eight shortlisted students on this year’s Foundation course. The name of the winner of the ORO Art Prize for excellence will be announced during the evening. In addition, those attending will have the opportunity to vote for a People’s Prize.

The prize for the raffle which helps fund the event is a framed unique print of a painting by Osi (image above). This can be seen on display at Oriel Osi on the Square in Llansteffan, where raffle tickets can be bought. The draw will be made during the prize-giving evening by this year’s generous sponsor Christine Kinsey.

Free entry – Wine and beer to purchase – Live music

The exhibition will continue in the Memorial Hall on Sunday 29th June where there will also be a second hand book sale to raise funds for the hall.
